Rewriting Cancer is a film series produced for UICC (Union for International Cancer Control) by BBC StoryWorks. It aims to dispel myths and showcase advancements in cancer prevention, treatment, and care through the lens of people with lived experience — spotlighting the incredible people living and working with cancer.

The series features short films from across the globe, grouped into three chapters: Changing the Odds, Changing the Outcome, and Changing the Experience — each focusing on different aspects of cancer care and patient experiences.

The series is hosted on BBC.com, where it has reached some 25 million impressions and drawn more than a million visitors, igniting global conversations about progress in diagnosing, treating, and curing cancers.

The series highlights the experiences of people around the world with cancer — including patients, their loved ones, caregivers, medical professionals, and volunteers — while also showcasing innovative approaches in cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and supportive care.

Citeline took part in the 2026 edition of Rewriting Cancer series. Citeline's film highlights how it helps overcome barriers in patient access to clinical trials.

The film follows Madeline Naylor, Chief Clinician, Real-world Data at Norstella, who lost her father to cancer and has dedicated her career to improving patient access to clinical trials. The film showcases how Citeline uses data, technology, and real-world insights to connect the right patients to the right clinical trials faster and more efficiently — with a particular focus on Citeline PatientMatch, Citeline's solution for making the patient-matching process smarter and more scalable.
